Vintage Time at Idyllic Hills Vineyard

Grape picking commenced on 4th. March 2016 two weeks earlier than normal due to the warmer than usual ripening period. Merlot was the first variety picked, followed by Viognier, Shiraz and finally Cabernet Sauvignon on the 19th. March.

The picking was quick and trouble free due to the pristine quality of the fruit brought about by a total absence of any mildews or botrytis infection being a tribute to the vineyard management and favourable weather.

A large number of family and friends braved the heatwave conditions in the vineyard while picking the grapes however there were plenty of drink breaks to combat the conditions.
